Happy New Year

New year is nearly managed, the day of the year I fewest don't like. The silence is deeper than on every other Sunday, the streets are dirty from the firework, the night was of course short and bumpy.

The evening yesterday was long, but with nice Highlights. Daddy prepared a fantastic buffet. On TV we saw a beautiful show from the Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas. But it is very hard to knit cables secondary.
The neighbours of my parents spend some money on their firework, not so much clackers but some very nice rockets.

Of course my parents cats were not so amused, I hope, they recoverded today from this shock.

I finished a lot on the last day of the old year.

On Saturday night I tidied up a bit and found a 'Kreativ mit Karten' (Creative with cards) magazine Christmas cards I started last year. I finished them, so I have the first cards for Christmas this year:

Additionally I finished the last and 39th pair of socks. It will be gived away on Friday.

Dunkle Schokolade (Dark chocolate)
'Seaweed' from Barbara G. Walkers 'Second treasury of knitting patterns'
'1001 Socke' from the Shop of the Hamburger Wollfabrik

Here a detailled photo of the embellishment:

Today I made some cards, too. The first Easter cards are finished, a kit from Angelika Wagener which I changed a bit (they are named 'Good Luck' but the flowers and colours match also Eastern)

Eastercards

The last days of my vacation and the last weekend I made a lot of cards. First of all the Eastercards. Very early, I know, but Arne put this bug into my ear and so I'm realising it. Not so much stress in March

The cards on the first photo are for parcels, the other ones will be send as cards by mail.

I also planned some more cards and bought a lot of material for them (paper for example).

Needleclattering

I also was very busy knitting.

In London I bought a beautiful yarn at Libertys Wolle (I wanted to find something to buy in this beautiful department and I found it).

I made from it a set of mittens and a scarf for a very dear friend:

Gruenes Set (Green Set)
Mittens: 'Fetching' (Knitty)
Scarf: arranged from Barbara G. Walker 'A Treasury of Knitting Patterns' Triple-Braided Diamonds
Both knitted with RCY Cashcotton DK

The scarf is very narrow, but has 230cm.

I also started a new project: A blue set for a dear friend. Once again a scarf and mittens, the pattern from the third book of Barbara G. Walker, the mittens from Knitty. The yarn is from ONline, No. 102 'Stretch' a special offer from the Woll-SB-Laden in Oldenburg (and Bremen).

I was today in the Bremen Shop with my colleague. Beautiful yarn and nice offers. In the end I bought more than I planned

The first thing were three balls of the 'Stretch', I wasn't sure, if I had enough. It was also an offer in Bremen and they had the colour I needed. Althought the parties are different, the colour matches.

And there were three balls of sock yarn...

It was the ball on the left side, I planned to buy, 6-ply in blue tones, I hope to sell the socks. The other two balls I bought, because my friend liked the brown socks so much, I gave her on Friday. One in 6ply, one in 4ply, the last one was on sale.

Weekreport

After the buy at the Woll-SB-Markt on Monday I spend the week with two knitting projects.

The ordered socks 'Blaupause' (Blueprint)

and the scarf from the blue set grow a bit, too.

But I also got a bit weak (I should be VERY busy knitting, on the other hand I finished the Easter cards:

Additionally two little parcels arrived. After waiting for a long time (it was out of store) finally I received the yarn for another children sweater from Angel Yarns. From Sirdar 'Luxury Soft Cotton DK'. I used it for the little sailor (did I told you, that this sweater was a big success?) and it was so much fun, that I was happy to find another project with it, of course again in an English Knitting Magazine.

Furthermore I participatet at the big Advent riddle from Martinas Hobby- & Bastelecke and I won! A Tutto (Zwerger) Starter-Package:

The instruction book I really don't need, but the DPNs and the two balls 'Opal Prisma' and 'Opal Smoke' are so soft, I'm looking forward to knit them

But this will have to wait. I have to finish the two current projects, especially the socks but I hope also the set. I think, I need a good long television programm in the next weeks...

I wish you all a nice weekend!

Today is Friday...

and the whole weekend is lying ahead of me. I love Friday afternoons!

This week again I received some very nice envelopes:

Sticker from Bastelbienchen

I was searching for very special stickers which I found on this shop. Normally there is a minimum order value (on the photo is just the 'rest' becaus one item was sold out in between), so I browsed through the shop and found a lot of beautiful items.

Sock yarn from Kirsten 'Handgefärbt'
on the left normal sock yarn, on the right pure wool

I also couldn't resist the new release at Sheepaints

on the left 'Wizard Cookie', on the right 'Magia'

Searching for the woolwhities I had seen in some blogs I ended at Drachenwolle
on the left one of those strand. on the right two cuddy strands 6ply sock yarn

After taking a look into my closet it is really time to reduce my stash a bit. So many wonderful colours from my favourite shops!!! However there will be two more parcels from Kirsten. One a normal order (these fantastic colours... ) and of course I dind't wanted to miss the spring standing order. But then I will take a break, vacation is coming closer and last time three weeks were not enough (these yellow snails!).

Hot needles...

produce somtimes knitted results

This arised since my last blog entry:

'Blaupause' (Blueprint)
'Bubble-Wreath' from Sockbug-Blog
ONline Linie 7 (6fach Garn)

These are orderes socks, but I didn't send until now, as the money didn't arrived yet. I think, I have to follow up.

Otherwise everything stands in the sign of the blue Set. The first mitten has been finished

but I frogged the scarf and started it new in half fishermen's rib. The choosen pattern I will take for another yarn, it is beautiful, but I think, this way I will be faster to finish it. Next Saturday I would like to give away both sets

This weekend I will be busy continuing it!

I wish you all a nice weekend!
